The Amazing Agriculture Adventure will provide about one thousand grades four and five students a three day hands on look at where their food comes from next week.
The Amazing Agriculture Adventure, set for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, takes place at the University of Manitoba's Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre and Richardson International's Kelburn Farm south of Winnipeg.
Laurel Lyons, the Special Events Coordinator with Manitoba Pork, says about one thousand students mostly from the Winnipeg area, their parents and teachers take part.

The Amazing Agriculture Adventure, or Triple A as we generally refer to it, is an interactive learning experience for grades four and five.
Triple A acts to bring curriculum to life with some hands on experience and the students visit 16 different interactive stations.
Triple A is organized by Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba but the event is delivered mostly by agriculture industry representatives and about 200 volunteers it takes to put on this event on over the three days.
Ag in the Classroom has a really good group of committed industry professionals who take part in the event every year.
They really have a pretty dedicated following of volunteers that spend their time over the three days and help take all the students through the different interactive stations.
The main purpose of Triple A is to get students exited about agriculture and get them thinking about where their food comes from.
Typically students in elementary school wouldn't have much exposure to agriculture.
They may have visited a family farm if they're lucky or maybe had a parent take them out to Open Farm Day so I think the sooner agriculture is introduced to students, the better.

Lyons says, because Triple A is so interactive, the students have a place to spend their energy, they have lots of questions and the more they find out the more questions they have.
