World Pork Expo Set for June 7 to 9 in Des Moines
Doug Fricke - National Pork Producers Council

Farmscape for May 23, 2017

Delegates from about 30 countries are expected to be on hand in June in Des Moines for the 2017 edition of World Pork Expo.
The 2017 edition of World Pork Expo is slated to take place from June 7 to 9 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Doug Fricke, the Director of Trade Show Marketing with the National Pork Producers Council, says the history of World Pork Expo goes back to 1988 so the event is now in its 29th year and it has been held primarily in Des Moines.

Clip-Doug Fricke-World Pork Expo:
The attendance is quite broad.
We have a number of countries that have guests come to visit the trade show, listen to seminars and take part in the event.
We're probably at close to 30 various countries from around the world that will have attendees at the show this year.
The primary attendance audience is producers throughout the U.S. and we've got a large number of producers that come down from Canada so it's a very well attended event from that perspective.
The focus is really to get producers together into a setting where they've got the trade show.
They can see what's new in the industry, what opportunities are there for them to bring into their business, whether it's services, equipment, technology, breeding stock, pretty much everything that you can think of for raising pigs in the country and also the world.
It's the largest pork specific trade show that we know of.

Fricke notes registration will be open on line until June 1st at worldpork.org and after June 1st participants can register on site.
He encourages anyone interested to pre-register to make the process quicker once arriving.
